PROJECT MALAR
Project Malar is a social initiative conceptualised to breathe new life into used and wilted flowers in Chennai. Wasted has joined hands with Holy Waste, a segment of Oorvi Sustainable Concepts Pvt Ltd, to set up the first floral waste rejuvenation centre in Chennai as an Income Generating Programme for Kalaiselvi Karunalaya Social Welfare Society.
HOW IT WORKS
All the floral waste at Koyambedu Flower Market is collected on a daily basis from flower vendors. Collected flower waste is segregated, sorted, cleaned, and dried, at Koyambedu, by the women of KKSS Welfare Society.
